Grandma’s Birthday Quilt
I love frogs and really enjoy your frog quilt. Was it difficult to make? Did you create your own pattern? Would love to create something similar.
Tabitha the Frog Quilt was an applique quilt that I made using an image from the internet and steam a seam II. I made it back in 2002, when I was experimenting and adventuring into quilting by myself. I don’t have a pattern for it and have never been able to find the picture again. I printed it in black and white, drew around the main shapes with sharpie, then enlarged it to the size I wanted and made it a mirror image. Then I traced onto my Steam-A-Seam and followed the manufacturer’s directions for applying the Steam-A-Seam and making my fusible appliques. After it was all laid out I fused it and then I free motion quilted around the shapes so they were raw edges.
