The gallery of the Time for Colour challenge quilts is up on the Canadian Quilters Association blog. There are some amazingly beautiful mini quilts from a whole lot of talented quilters. British Columbia made a food showing, and I am happy to say that the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild had three members participate.
You can see all the quilts by following the link below. I am a little disappointed that my quilt looks so dull. Its definitely bright and cheery in person. Each of the quilts will be sold with the proceeds going to the Children’s Wish Foundation. you can also get postcards of your favorites =)
I am very excited to announce that Sapphire Star won 2nd place in its category at the Canadian Quilter Association National Juried Show this week! I was speechless, and more than a little red, going up to receive my certificate. A huge thank you to the judges and my fellow quilters. A bonus was I got to view the show before it officially opened this morning. All the quilts were amazing, and the winner of the Best in Show certainly deserved it! I have never seen stippling that small in my life!! I will post more pictures this weekend when we officially view the show and I have my camera with me.
To add to the excitement, Janet Archibald, one of our very own VMQG members, won the Award for Excellence in Domestic Quilting. Way to go Janet!!! I hope she gets to come to the show this weekend and see her ribbon!

A few months ago I entered Sapphire Star into the Canadian Quilters Association National Juried Show. This year the show is only a few hours from my home, so I am super stoked to be able to attend ( did someone say Merchants Mall?!)
I also received email notification that Sapphire Star had been accepted into the show! How amazing is that? I am so happy and proud that my works gets to hang with some of the best quilt artists in Canada and from around the world. Last years entries were phenomenal, and I am so honored to have Sapphire Star in the show this year!
The countdown begins tomorrow, when I send off my quilt =)
